Nucleus is known for practising what we preach and sQuid is proof that we can identify value opportunities and have the operational skills to bring them to market.

Having operated the Oyster* online portal for Transport for London since launch, we identified that ‘tap-and-go’ transactions need not be limited to transit applications. We developed an emoney concept using similar technologies that would target sub-£10 transactions, like buying a newspaper or sandwich or coffee, with the aim or replacing cash for these simple payments. The benefits were clear: faster transactions means shorter queues; shorter queues and cheaper transactions mean retailers will be happy; shorter queues, no fiddling for change and the security of a pre-pay card that isn’t linked to a bank or credit card account means convenience and peace of mind for the consumer.

Add full integration with ITSO standard transit cards and local authority Smart cards and suddenly ‘the world is your sQuid’ as Arthur Daley might have said.
