Advising a European Commission initiative


The European Banking Authority provides advice to the European Commission on banking policy issues and promotes cooperation and convergence of supervisory practice across the European Union. They turned to Nucleus to create a brand identity and a website to help communicate with all stakeholders across the EU.


For the brand, we took our inspiration from the imagery of the Euro bank notes to create a distinctive and authoritative brand mark, which we then applied to all corporate communications, including the website. As communications needs grew, we evolved and revamped the website, introducing Kentico as a content management solution, and developing a secure member’s area.


EBA performs a critical role in coordinating EU banking policy in the aftermath of the credit crisis. As a trusted partner of EBA we implemented many functional enhancements to their website as well as expanding the content. In addition, Nucleus hosted the EBA website for many years.

We supported EBA with the publishing of their EU-wide banking stress test results. This resulted in a high traffic peak post-announcement, which we managed through careful optimisation of site performance.
