A pioneering destination

Brief

We were asked by the internationally acclaimed wellness experts, Chiva-Som, to design a website for Zulal, a new wellness resort in Qatar, a pioneering destination that blends Traditional Arabic & Islamic Medicine with Chiva-Som’s holistic health and wellness philosophy. The brand had already been designed, so our brief was to bring the brand experience to life online, in a multi-lingual website experience.

Solution

Working closely with the Zulal team in Doha and Chiva-Som in Bangkok, we first designed the information architecture to provide clear signposting between Zulal Serenity, the adult-only resort, and Zulal Discovery, for families.

With mobile phones used extensively for browsing and booking across the Middle East, it was vital the mobile user experience was frictionless. The design therefore responds seamlessly to different devices, providing a consistently engaging experience, from perusing to booking.

The booking widget distinguishes between Serenity and Discovery reservations and provides search results via Sabre’s SynXis hotel booking engine.

Results

A teaser website was launched in September 2020 with the full site revealed a year later ahead of the resort opening in November 2021.
