Van Peterson

brand and digital case study

Ahead of the commerce game

Brief

Van Peterson is a world-renowned London-based jewellery designer and retailer. Always an innovator, Eric Van Peterson was early to spot the opportunity to use the internet for increasing the distribution of his jewellery designs. Nucleus was appointed to create a new brand experience, from brand mark through to packaging, literature and ecommerce website.

Solution

The design work combined black and white fashion photography with high quality product images. From launch, the website proved that high value luxury brands could be sold online and a specialist franchise could be expanded worldwide. Nucleus completed all the brand assets from literature to special leather packaging, creating an end-to-end brand experience.

Results

Initially launched in November 1999, the VanPeterson.com website was completely revamped in 2003, again by Nucleus, retaining its distinctive black and white look and feel and timeless composition and typography, but hosting a completely new collection. Probably ten years ahead of its time, ecommerce is now de rigeur in the world of luxury.
