Digital ‘glamping’ brought to life


Based on the success of our booking system for the Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC), we were asked to create a digital business model for their new brand – Ready Camp – offering pre-erected safari tents in a range of UK locations. With an online-only mobile-friendly offer, the design of the site and the efficacy of the booking system were critical to success.


The timescale for the design and build was very tight, so we recommended a very simple user interface and navigation system. The site was a section within the main CCC website, rather than a separate website – so the majority of users are members, and well versed in the procedures of the Club. The site used responsive design (RWD) to enable tablet and smartphone booking – many members prefer to book when ‘on the road’. Nucleus designed and built the site within four weeks, using Kentico CMS as the content management platform.


The Ready Camp brand, launched in spring 2015, has been a strong performer. The initial sales success has validated the management decision to offer online booking only, avoiding the costs of a supporting call centre.
