As part of their GDPR programme, Carnival UK brand P&O Cruises realised that it was necessary to refresh the marketing consent that was held in their database for their customers. They commissioned a new application, Gigya, to master the refreshed consent and also manage the profile data and authentication, but then needed a partner to implement the solution. As Nucleus has led all the website development for P&O Cruises since 2009, we were the obvious choice.
We first delivered a solution to encourage existing customers to update their preferences by following a link from an email to a preference page with auto-logon. This was then extended to a full customer account facility, integrating with Gigya, where users can register, re-set passwords and log on, update preferences and contact details, as well as check their cruise history and loyalty points.
New brochure requests forms, competitions forms and email sign up forms to feed into the Gigya application, will encourage users to interact with the preference centre and enable Carnival to market to them.
